We strongly recommend that all ChromeOS and Chrome web app users begin using the PWA immediately. The ChromeOS Zoom desktop app will no longer be supported as of June 2022. The PWA allows users to take advantage of some features (like breakout rooms) typically available only to desktop application users, but without having to install software on their computer.
We plan to enable this feature for all users once Zoom addresses these issues. Currently, how Zoom has implemented this feature presents privacy concerns. Zoom recently added a Pronouns feature, enabling users to share their preferred pronouns.
If you experience this, we recommend uninstalling Zoom, and then re-installing the 64-bit version, as it typically eliminates these problems. Some Windows users have reported problems including Zoom freezing, crashing, disconnecting, and live transcription problems.
